Rwandan painter Emmanuel Nkuranga will give visual art lovers a sneak peek into his contemporary art pieces on Saturday November 22 at Inema Art Center in Kacyiru starting at 6PM.
The exhibition dubbed: "Creativity Rising” will give the audience a glimpse into the latest trends in mixed media installation and painting at the centre which Nkuranga co-founded with his brother Innocent Nkurunziza
The paintings standout prominently to create a collection of contemporary abstract and semi-abstract art.
Using Kitenje traditional cloth material, acrylic, and canvas Nkuranga has managed to make memorable paintings by mixing the cloth with the most unlikely materials such as old car parts, plants and reclaimed materials.
Speaking to The New Times, the self-taught painter said: "It’s been a sleepless couple of days but the pieces are ready now. I am thrilled to be showcasing my 2014 arts collection and the proceeds from the sale of my art pieces go towards helping disadvantaged children ".
This comes after Nkuranga and his fellow artists at Inema launched the monthly Music Arts and Food exhibition at the Heaven restaurant in Kiyovu.
