We have come a long way with the polythene ban and apparently, most Rwandans are aware of the ban.

It is therefore unfortunate that the country still imports some products with polythene covers. Several imports still allow the increase of polythene bags in the country.

If we really intend to avoid environmental degradation and all the other disadvantages that come with the use of polythene, then we need to carefully check, whatever we import.

If bakeries have resorted to wax coated paper, which cannot preserve their products as long as polythene papers do, why do we give chance-imported goods?
