Noeline Mbabazi acquired a mortgage loan to build a family home, which she has been servicing for the past few years. This meant that she had to forego some things to service the mortgage. Mbabazi will now be able to afford some of these items after she won the first Airtel’s ‘Ni ikirenga’ promotion house worth Rwf20 million on Thursday.

"I will rent out the house to raise money to pay back the bank loan and cater for the family’s needs. This will also improve my life as I will no longer have to use part of my salary to service the loan,” said Mbabazi after receiving the three-bedroom house located in Kinyinya sector in Gasabo District.

Mbabazi is the budget officer at Integrated Polytechnic Regional Centre in Kicukiro District, Kigali.

There are seven more houses to be won and thousands of other prizes and cash in the ‘Ni ikirenga’ promotion that started on November 1 and ends on December 31. In all, eight houses worth Rwf160 million and prizes and cash worth Rwf200 million will be won in the eight-week promotion.

Speaking at the house handover, John Magara, the marketing officer at Airtel Rwanda, said the promotion was organised as part of activities to celebrate the 1,100,000 client mark over the past one and half years.
