As the Mützig Amabeats DJ competition draws nearer to its grand finale, the DJs who have made it this far completed their bootcamp on Friday, October 6.

This rigorous training week culminated in a meeting with high-ranking representatives from Bralirwa, during which the DJs gained insights and motivation to prepare for the ultimate finale showdown.

Martine Gatabazi, Marketing Director at Bralirwa, expressed appreciation for the competitors and their dedication to the craft, stating: "While we will ultimately crown three winners, it&039;s important to emphasize that none of you are losers. To have made it to this stage means you're already among the best in the field. Your passion for this profession is evident, and I encourage you to continue working diligently.”

"Bralirwa's decision to host a DJ competition wasn't made lightly. Some may associate us solely with alcohol, but in reality, we sell entertainment. This commitment is why we've supported various events such as Guma Guma, football, basketball, and now DJs. We believe in the transformative power of music, its therapeutic qualities, and the potential of DJ careers,” she said.

"We&039;re providing you with the initial push and a platform to propel yourselves forward. I'm confident that the experiences and knowledge you've gained during this week's bootcamp will greatly assist you in the final competition. Special thanks to your mentors and last year's winners for their support. We'll see you all at the finals," Gatabazi said.

DJ Lenzo, DJ Yolo, DJ Dallas, DJ Kavori, and DJ Noodlot, who are all vying for the championship title, shared their thoughts on the competition.

DJ Lenzo expressed his gratitude, saying: "We're truly thankful to Mützig. Right now, I believe this is one of the most rewarding competitions in the DJing field, with prizes worth over $25,000, which is incredible. I had the opportunity to meet fantastic people and learn from them. The bootcamp was invaluable in helping us identify our mistakes and improve. When I first entered, I thought my skills might get me to second place, but now I'm confident I can aim for the top spot."

Dj Yolo shared: "The bootcamp was great, even awesome, I&039;d say. The semi-finals were fantastic for some of us, though tough luck to those who didn't make it. I'm grateful to everyone, especially Mutzig, for organizing this initiative to unite DJs. I'm fully prepared and ready to deliver at the final. My skills have truly elevated since I joined the bootcamp."

DJ Dallas stated: "This competition was all I hoped it would be. I'm working hard to prove that what I chose to be will work for me, and Mutzig has already played a role in this."

DJ Kavori shared his thoughts on the bootcamp, saying, "The bootcamp was a great opportunity for me to learn from my fellow DJs, understand the competition, explore different music styles, and enhance my DJing style. I want to give a special shoutout to our mentors; their expertise and experience were instrumental in shaping my set. There were times when I didn't know what song to play next, but they've been in the game longer than us, and I've learned a lot from them. Speaking of Amabeats, Bralirwa did an excellent job. It's not just the DJs benefiting; they've created numerous job opportunities, from organizers to media personnel, benefiting the youth as a whole."

DJ Noodlot expressed: "The bootcamp was truly awesome, which might sound unusual because DJs rarely come together like this. I learned so much and had the chance to work with various equipment, some of which was new to me. It boosted our confidence and opened us up to new experiences. This competition will also help change perceptions among Rwandan parents, showing them that DJing is a legitimate career, just like any other job. Many of us faced challenges growing up in an environment that didn't fully support our aspirations."

Dj Khizzbeats, the first runner-up from the first edition, shared some sage advice, saying, "Seize this opportunity. The profession is becoming more serious. Stay focused and disciplined."

First edition winner Dj Selekta Danny shared these words of encouragement: "Don't fear, strive to be the best, and be creative. Even if you don't make the top 3, don’t lose hope. It might not be this year, but from what I’ve seen, many of you are making great strides, keep going and I hope to see you succeed."

The competition's final showdown is set for Saturday, October 14, at KCEV (Camp Kigali) from 5 pm, with an entry fee of Rwf5,000.

Sponsored by Bralirwa Plc, this competition aims to shine a spotlight on DJs, highlight their talent, and promote the quality of music in Rwanda. It also provides a platform for business opportunities, networking, and leisure activities through competitive events.

The grand prize for the winner is an exclusive one-year brand ambassador contract valued at Rwf18 million, along with DJ equipment worth Rwf5 million. The first runner-up will receive a one-year brand ambassador contract valued at Rwf12 million, accompanied by DJ equipment worth Rwf2.5 million. The second runner-up will be awarded a cash prize of Rwf2.5 million.
