Newly appointed Amavubi captain Ismael Nshutiyamagara, alias Kodo, says the national side will do everything to put in a good performance in Friday’s friendly against Morocco despite going three months without getting their wages.

The money was for a friendly game against Gabon as well as away and home encounters against Congo Brazzaville in the Africa Cup of Nations group stage qualifiers in July and August, respectively.

"We met with the Ferwafa president Vincent Degaule Nzamwita who promised that we shall receive our wages on November 15 which is after the friendly with Morocco,” Nshutiyamagara told Times Sports.

The skipper added: "For now we are focussing on representing Rwanda to the best of our abilities and following instructions given to us by coach (Stephen Constantine).”

According to the new team manager, Bonnie Mugabe, Ferwafa explained to the players before summoning them for the friendly against Morocco and the boys had since attended training without a glitch.

Players called up to the national team for a friendly get $200 for the entire duration of the training camp and $500 for a match ,while for an African nations qualifier, they are given $400 for a training camp and $700 for a match.

They are also given bonuses whose amount is not specified.

The bulk of the side that will feature in the Morocco friendly are debutants.

This is not the first time that players have received payment for their services late but, according to Nshutiyamagara, Ferwafa has met set deadlines in the past after delays like this one.
