Gospel music enthusiasts are in for a special treat this Sunday at Kigali Serena Hotel, as Amahoro choir celebrate 20 years of singing.
The concert dubbed, Amahoro Iwacu Celebration, is a celebration of 20 years since the choir started performing.
Amahoro choir is known for songs like Indatwa and Ingwati, among others.
Eric Mashukano, the organiser of the concert, said, "Our choir will use this opportunity to launch our annual programmes aimed at peace building and conflict resolution.
Mashukano said music is able to arouse emotions, reinforce social identities and offer hope to the people and that is why they chose it to convey the message of peace as it can easily make us change the mindset of people and promote reconciliation in the communities.
This is an invitation only concert and Pastor Antoine Rutayisire is expected to grace the show.
"We strive to see Amahoro Choir being the channel of the gospel of Peace and Salvation of Jesus Christ (Phil 4:7),” said Mashukano.
Amahoro choir has performed at high profile events including the national genocide commemorations, National Prayers and at other related events whose aim is to comfort those who are hopeless.
