One of the biggest entertainment shows is on this month as Burundi’s Kenya-based artiste Jean Pierre aka Kidum celebrates his 40th birthday with a music concert in Kigali.

Ahmed Pacifique, the singer’s manager, said the regional star will perform in Kigali on November 28, at Kigali Serena Hotel in a concert dubbed: Birthday Concert, to mark his 40th birthday and three decades of singing.

"There’s no better way to celebrate this milestone than with fans in Kigali,” said Pacifique.

Kidum is expected to stage a three-hour breathtaking show spiced with a live band.

"What makes this concert special is the fact that this time he will sing his own compositions,” he added.

Apart from this being another major entertaining event, Kidum will share his experience with local artistes on how music can be done differently from what they are accustomed to.

Other artistes to perform at the event include local Afrobeat/ pop singing sensation Mani Martin and Burundian musician Sapb.

The concert will start at 6pm and the entrance fee is Rwf5000 in the ordinary section and, Rwf10000 in the VIP section.

Kidum is the voice of peace in the Great Lakes region.

Kidum grew up loving music and at the age of 10, he had already started playing musical instruments. In 1995, he fled to Kenya following the war that broke out in his motherland Burundi.

The musician/songwriter has received many of the music industry’s top accolades for his work including the Kilimanjaro awards, Pearl of Africa Music Awards (PAM Awards) and KORA awards, among others.
