EGYPT- Inexperience coupled with individual errors cost the National U-23 Volleyball team after losing three sets to nil against Tunisia in the ongoing Africa U-23 Volleyball championships at the Sharm El Sheik Gymnasium.
Rwanda started well in the the first and second set but lost out 25-18, 25-21. The Tunisian side were comfortable in the last set winning 25-14.
It was bad day for skipper Aimable Mutuyimana, who failed to replicate his impressive performance against Libya on Friday but youngsters Nelson Murangwa and Yves Mutabazi did well despite playing in such an elite tournament for the first time.
"We were abit nervous because we have played Tunisia twice before and never won. They are now one of the best on the continent. However we can take positives in our performance because the first two sets were close,” Coach Paul Bitok said after the game.
Rwanda will play their third game against hosts Egypt, a game they need to win to increase their chances of qualifying for the World Volleyball Championship slated for next year in Brazil.
