A British Member of Parliament Eric Joyce, this week filed a motion in the UK Parliament seeking to have the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) investigated over a recent documentary on Rwanda.

Hon. Joyce’s Early Day Motion stated that he was "dismayed” of the BBC production that played in the hands of "Genocide denialists”.

The motion further urges the Director General of the BBC, a member of the House of Lords, to act personally and transparently to deal with this matter of profound political significance and social injustice and to conduct an immediate inquiry into the editorial and managerial decisions which led to the airing of the programme on BBC2 on 1 October 2014.

The lawmaker also commended campaigns by journalist, Professor Linda Melvern and others who have been at the forefront for the inquiry of the BBC and the motives behind the documentary.

Melvern was joined in condemnation of the programme by a host of academics, journalists and prominent personalities who have conducted extensive research into the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda
