President Paul Kagame is expected to attend the Wednesday opening of the India Economic Summit 2014 in the Indian capital, New Delhi.
The India Economic Summit is being convened by the World Economic Forum and Confederation of Indian Industry under the theme, ‘Redefining public private cooperation for a new beginning’.
Kagame will meet various political and business leaders on the sidelines of the Summit before attending its official opening.
The President today held an interactive session with over 30 businessmen and women under the auspices of the Confederation of Indian Industry. Kagame reminded the meeting chaired by Ninad Karpe, the CEO of APTECH, that East Africa and India have traded with each other for centuries.
"The business partnerships between India and East Africa is strong but there is much more than we can undertake together”, Kagame said.
Urging Indian business investment in East Africa, Kagame told the audience that East African integration would drive growth for years to come. " Through the Northern Corridor, we aim to connect our people, market to each other and the world as never before”.
Later today, he will be speaking at an event titled ‘Boardroom Discussion-Serving the New Global Consumer: Africa-India Cooperation.
