Every year, the world marks 31st October, as the World Savings Day. It is now 90 years since the day was first observed in Milano, Italy, during the 1st International Savings Bank Congress (World Society of Savings Banks).
The annual event has since become significant, especially in developing countries, with the general objective of encouraging the population to embrace the culture of saving and working with financial institutions and banks.
