Rayon Sports’ interim coach Sosthene Habimana is increasingly coming under pressure to perform after his side lost to archrivals APR 1-2 in the National Football League on Sunday.
Habimana, who is still trying to have a firm grip of the former league champions has dropped four points in five games and has come under scrutiny in some camps as fans feel that an experienced coach should take over.
The former SEC Academy tactician has also coached AS Muhanga and Isonga FC but the task at a club of Rayon Sports’ magnitude is enormous with Blues’ fans demanding wins in every game especially against rivals APR.
"We have to keep on working hard and making sure that we create chances that will help us become lethal in front of goal,” Habimana said.
Former Police FC winger Peter Otema is Habimana’s best option upfront and has already netted thrice in five games while youngsters Frank Lomami and Isaac Muganza both from SEC Academy with no experience in the topflight division have struggled to get goals.
Habimana believes that with time his side will gel and put up good performances ahead of a long season which has another 21 more games.
The former Amavubi defender, who was appointed as assistant to Jean Francois Losciuto ahead of the Cecafa Kagame Cup, took over the Nyanza based club after the Belgian signed for ASFA Yennenga in Burkina Faso over a month ago.
Meanwhile, the National football league continues this afternoon with Mukura taking on Marines at Mumena, AS Kigali travel to Rusizi to play Amagaju while Isonga host Amagaju at Kicuriko turf.
