Rwanda U-23 boys’ volleyball team departed for Egypt yesterday afternoon to take part in the Africa Championships scheduled to run from November 4-16.

Paul Bitok’s side has been impressive in friendlies after winning three games against a select team drawn from APR, Rayon Sports and Goma Volleyball club.

"We prepared well, we are going to face tough teams but we are going to give them a tough challenge, we will give our best to make our country proud,” team captain Aimable Mutuyimana said before departure.

Rwanda will compete with Libya, Botswana, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco in a robin round competition.

The teams that will reach the final will compete at the FIVB Men’s U23 World Championships 2015, which will take place in Brazil from October 6-13.

Squad: Bonnie Mutabazi, Sylveste Ndayisabye, Peter Bigirimana, Placide Habarugira, Yves Mutabazi, Aimable Mutuyima, Barrack Rugira, Alfred Muvunyi,  Fred Musoni, Frabrice Nkezabahizi, Nelson Murangwa and Samuel ‘Tyzon’ Niyogisubizo.
