The National U-23Volleyball team on Friday evening won their third warm-up game against a select team of elite players from top clubs like APR and Rayon Sports ahead of the African U-23 Championship slated for November 4-13 in Egypt.
The National U-23Volleyball team on Friday evening won their third warm-up game against a select team of elite players from top clubs like APR and Rayon Sports ahead of the African U-23 Championship slated for November 4-13 in Egypt.
The experienced senior team won the first two sets (25-13, 25-20) before Paul Bitok’s side recovered to win the last two sets sending the game into a decisive set that the U-23 team won 15-7.
The U-23 team played two other friendlies last week which they won 3-1 and 3-0 against Goma and the select side, respectively.
Meanwhile, the U-23 team departs on Monday evening. Rwanda will compete with Libya, Botswana, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco in a robin round competition.
The two teams that will reach the final will represent Africa at the FIVB Men’s U23 World Championships 2015 that will be held in Brazil from October 6-13.
