The body of an eight-year-old boy was found drowned in a drainage channel in Gikondo following yesterday afternoon’s torrential downpour.

The deceased child was later identified as Jackson Ngabonziza.

His body has been handed over by Police to his parents, Nyamirambo residents Johnson Rutaganda and Albertine Mukayisenga for burial. 

According to the Kigali Metropolitan Police spokesperson Spt. Modeste Mbabazi, the small child was swept away from his Nyamairambo home due to the  heavy rains. "His body was recovered about four hours later”, he said.
