Rwanda U23 Volleyball team will play a warm up match against a select team from local Volleyball clubs on Saturday ahead of their departure to the U23 African Volleyball Championships on Monday.
After failing to secure warm up games against Kenyan sides- Prisons, GSU and Cooperative Bank, Coach Bitok thinks playing against the more experienced players from big clubs like APR, Uniatek and Rayon Sports will give his youthful side the necessary test for the continental show piece.
The U23 team will be coming up against elite players that include last season’s Most Valuable Player Oliver Ntagengwa (Rayon Sports), Theogène Tuyishime (Rayon Sports), Theodore Thiambo (APR) and Vincent Gasongo Dusabimana (INATEK) among others.
Meanwhile Christian Hatumimana, the Volleyball federation General Secretary told this paper that the Ministry of Sports has already given them Rwf60m to cater for the team during the eight-day competition.
The money will cater for air tickets and logistics for the 18 man delegation.
