Three Rwandan Karate players including a girl will represent the country in the World Karate Federation (WKF) Championships to be held in Bremen, Germany, next week.

Solange Gashagaza Ingabire (20), Vanily Ngarambe and Emery Espoir Ntungane, both 21, will tussle it out with the world’s best in the WKF Championships starting November 5 to 9.

The bronze winner at the 15th Senior African Karate Championship held in August in Senegal will fight in the -68kg category.

Ngarambe and Ntungane will compete in the -67kg and -60kg categories respectively.

The trio, along with over 10 others continue intensive training under the supervision of national team coach Ruslan Adamov and Tamer Abdel-Raouf, a highly rated Egyptian coach.

"We have gone through many drills and in this short time [three weeks], I did my best. It was very new for them, training three hours every day. But they have made progress and I am happy for them,” the Egyptian who is a former champion said.

The team flies to Germany on Sunday evening.
