The 20-member provincial squad that commences training tomorrow at the Kicukiro stadium will be under the close eye of coaches Eric Ndangamyambi and Joshua Mwanja.
Speaking exclusively to Times Sport, Mwanja admitted that, "We shall be up against tough opposition especially against the associate nations that play regular cricket however our target is to win the tournament.”
Rwanda finished fourth at last year’s edition still in Dar es Salaam where their highlight was stunning a very strong Kenya side.
According to Mwanja it would be encouraging to beat the associate countries including the reigning champions Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. The three-day tournament has also attracted Mozambique and Botswana.
The Rwandan outfit will train for seven weeks before departing for the Tanzanian capital hoping to bag the African trophy for the very first time.
