Describe your fashion style?
That would be casual smart- a pair of jeans, a cap, shades, a shirt or t-shirt and a timberland pair of shoes. When I have a meeting to attend, I put on a waist coat because I don’t like suits.
What is your favourite fashion accessory?
I don’t have any in particular. You will always find me with a watch, a ring and a neck-chain.
What’s your most expensive outfit?
It’s the neck chains. I can’t remember how much I’ve spent on them but they are definitely the most expensive items in my wardrobe.
And your best fashion style on a woman?
I like a woman in an office suit or long clothes. I find them very smart.
What type of footwear are you most comfortable with?
Timberland boots.
You can never be caught wearing…
Skinny jeans. I think I am too old school; I can’t handle tight clothes on me.
What item do you treasure most in your closet?
Ibisumizi designed t-shirts.
That’s my own fashion label. I really love them.
Your favourite cologne?
That is Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren.
How often do you overhaul your closet?
When I see something good, I buy it and when my friends or brothers come home and they like something, I let them take it. But they are careful not to touch my neck-chains.
Do you have a designer?
I have someone who designs clothes for me. He is called Colbe and has a fashion house called Born in Rwanda in Kicukiro. When he has something new, he usually tells me or when I want something I tell him. However, I sometimes buy stuff on my own from different shops in town.
Any fashion tips?
Create your own style. People should try not to jump on any fashion style just because two or three people have embraced it. Maybe it complements their body or it is their preferred sense of style. That doesn’t mean that you should also do it. Dress to feel comfortable.
