Despite a two-place drop in the latest Fifa rankings, Rwanda is still among the top 100 countries after dropping to 95th position in the latest ranking for the month of October released on Thursday.

The national football team has been inactive since August following disqualification from the 2015 Africa Nations Cup group stage qualifiers in August after fielding a player with dual identity.

Amavubi were not involved in any friendly game during the recent international break but have now secured a friendly with Morocco on November 14.

The national team is also scheduled to compete in the upcoming Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup that is slated for next month in Ethiopia.

Head coach Stephen Constantine made it clear in an earlier interview that his aim is to win the regional tournament. Rwanda is currently ranked 25th on the African continent

Rwanda’s move from 101st to 93rd last month was the first time the Amavubi were ranked in the top 100 in six years with the highest position in the world being 78th in 2008.

In the Cecafa region, Uganda dropped by five places to 84th following their home and away losses to Togo in the continental qualifiers while Sudan sits in 107th, Tanzania (110th), Ethiopia (111st), Kenya (116th) and Burundi (128th).

Elsewhere on the African continent, Algeria is the highest ranked African country in 15th position followed by second placed Ivory Coast that has dropped by three places to 25th.

Most notably, following a double win over Uganda in the Afcon qualifiers, Togo has moved an impressive 73 places to 52nd in the world and 10th on the continent.
