Japan-based Nelson Murangwa is expected in the country on Friday to join the U23 team in preparation for the African Volleyball Championships slated for November 5-13 in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt.
According to the Rwanda Volleyball Federation officials, the 21-year old, who plays for Japanese side Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler, will go straight in residential training camp. Paul Bitok’s team will play three build-up games next week against Kenyan sides—Prisons, GSU and Cooperative Bank.
The team will then head to Cairo for the final warm-up match against Egypt U23 team on November 3.
The two finalists in the Africa championships will qualify to represent Africa in the FIVB Men’s U23 World Championships 2015, which will be hosted by Brazil from October 6-13.
