Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi has urged military judges and prosecutors in the country to always uphold professional ethics in their work as their job is also critical in bolstering national unity.

The premier was yesterday officiating at a swearing in ceremony at his office; of new president of the Military Tribunal, Brig. Gen. Andrew Kagame, three judges of the Military High Court, four judges of the Military Tribunal, as well as six military prosecutors.

"This is a very important ceremony and, let me remind you that you must never do anything contrary to the pact you have with your country and Rwandans in general. This job is about respecting fairness and always striving to preserve the country’s sovereignty,” Murekezi said.

"This job requires constant training in the law so as to ably deal with the ploys of criminals. In this regard, we request both the ministries of defence and justice to collaborate in ensuring that continuous capacity building programmes are available.”

He pledged government’s readiness to assist the judges and prosecutors with whatever is necessary for them to accomplish their responsibilities.

The new judges for the Military High Court are Capt. Bashir Rwaburindi, Capt. Johnson Karakire, and Lt. Grace Agasaro Gawayila.

The new judges in the Military Tribunal are Capt. Onesphore Rutagengwa, Capt. Samuel Kazenga, Capt. Jean Pierre Mutezintare and 2nd Lt. Annonciatte Nyirabahorana.

The prosecutors are Lt. Marie Chantal Umuhoza, Lt. Gervais Munyurangabo, Lt. Hyppolite Muvunyi, Lt. Jean Bosco Maniraguha, Lt. Emmanuel Bigirimana and Lt. Alexandre Kayitsinga.
