Rwanda National Police handball club is still the club to beat after winning their fourth trophy in a calendar year.
Police beat reigning champions Gicumbi 23-21 in a decisive league match played on Sunday in the Northern Province.
The win sealed their fourth trophy of the season having already won the Labour Day, Memorial and Liberation cups.
Eric Kaneza scored a game-high six goals while Philbert Kamarade and Nkusi Muhirwa were on target four times each to help the law enforcers register their third national league title in the last four seasons and the 12th trophy in their cabinet since the club was formed in 2003.
Police’s win means they are nine points clear of Gicumbi with one match to the end of the season.
Police coach Antoine Ntabanganyimana said, "We worked hard to win the league and everyone is really happy because we made it,”
He added: "We are happy for this trophy and for a historical season because we won all the trophies this season.”
