The National women football league season will start in January 2015 at a date yet to be confirmed. According to the head of women football in the local football governing body, Félicité Rwemalika, the league will run for six months, which means it will end in June.

"We are having a meeting next month in which we will discuss next season’s league schedule among other issues. But what I can confirm as of now is that the league will begin in January,” Rwemalika said on Saturday.
She also noted that next year will be a busy one as they will be building women football from the grassroots as well as institutionalising national teams from the U-17 to the senior team level.
Last month, Ferwafa’s general assembly decided that the women national teams, at all levels will not take part in international competitions in 2015.
The City of Kigali-sponsored AS Kigali have won the women league title in the last six seasons in a row, and will go into the new season as overwhelming favourites.
