Muslims around the world yesterday marked Eid al-Adha, also known as the festival of the sacrifice, by slaughtering animals and sharing meat with the less privileged.
In Rwanda scores thronged abattoirs such as the one in Nyabugogo, to buy animals they slaughtered as sacrifice to Allah, after attended prayers in various mosques.
Eid al-Adha is commemoration of Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his only son Ismael as an act of obedience to Allah.
