APR and Amavubi Stars goalkeeper, Jean Claude Ndoli, is set to travel to Algeria on October 18 for a knee surgery.
The 28-year-old Ndoli picked up an injury on July 21 during Amavubi’s 2-0 loss against the Republic of Congo in Pointe Noire, in the first leg match of the 2015 Afcon second round qualifier.
"Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) will help national team goalie Ndoli to undergo surgery in Algeria. He picked up the injury while serving the country during the first leg match against Congo Brazzaville,” the football governing body said in a statement.
In partnership with their Algerian counterparts, Ndoli will be operated on by French specialists working for the Algerian football federation.
Ferwafa signed an agreement with the Algerian FA in January regarding treatment of Rwandan players with severe injuries. Ndoli is expected to spend one month in the North-African country.
So far, four players have been treated in Algeria, namely; Faustin Usengimana, Eric Nsabimana, Ibrahim Itangishaka and Farouk Ruhinda. Ndoli becomes the fifth beneficiary.APR FC first choice goalie Ndoli has received 47 caps in the national team since making his debut in 2005.
