Telugu won the toss and batted first making 98 runs all out in 9.1 overs thanks to Victory’s bowler Eric Niyomugabo, who picked seven wickets for just 24 runs which earned him the man of match award.
In reply, Victory CC batsmen, despite chasing the lowest target in the league thus far, crumbled and were bowled out for just 84 in 13.4 overs.
Shiva Samba 4/28, Eric Ndangamyambi 2/11 and Don Mugisha 2/34, did the damage with the ball for Telugu, who became the first team to reach the semi-finals after two straight wins
"We made the lowest score ever in the 50 overs format, however I thank my team mates for the spirit they showed in the field to defend it well,” Telugu captain Shiva Samba said after the game.
