NEWLY PROMOTED national football league side Isonga FC have named Innocent Seninga as their new head coach to lead the club in the forthcoming season set to kick-off on October 18.

Seninga has been the team’s assistant coach to and his appointment was confirmed by the club president Gregoire Muramira on Sunday.

He replaces Yves Rwasamanzi who resigned from the job last month citing irreconcilable differences with his bosses after he led the youthful side to promotion from lower league last season.

"Seninga is our new head coach for the 2014/2015 season. He signed a one-year contract which could be renewed depending on how the team performs,” Muramira told Times Sport by phone yesterday.

Muramira noted that Seninga’s appointment was based mainly on his vast experience in working with youth teams.

Ferwafa headquarters-based Isonga FC was founded in August 2011, comprising of former U-17 national team players who featured at the 2011 U-17 Fifa World Cup in Mexico.

The team finished sixth in their maiden (2011/2013) season under Eric Nshimiyimana but were relegated the following season after finishing at the bottom of the 14-team league table.
