Inter-schools cricket tourney reaches semi-finals stage

EIGHT TEAMS have qualified for the semi-finals of this year’s Inter-schools cricket competitions scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

Today, there is one game in the girls’ category where Groupe Scolaire Ndera take on Fawe girls school at Ndera Seminary ground while the other three games will be played tomorrow.

The girls’ second semi-final will be between Integrated Polytechnic Regional Center (IPRC/TCC) against Lycée Ikirezi de Ruhango at the former’s ground in Kicukiro and in boy’s category IPRC/TSS will be up against Lycée Ikirezi de Ruhango while Lycée de Kigali will meet Effotec Kanombe at Lycée de Kigali ground.

In the last round, IPRC/TCC beat Apade SS by 8 wickets and Lycée de Kigali overcame the defending champions Kagarama SS by 28 runs.

Elsewhere, Lycée Ikirezi de Ruhango got a walk-over against St Joseph Kabgayi and Effotec Kanombe beat Apred Ndera by 6 wickets.

In the women’s category, GS Ndera beat Apred Ndera by 1 run while debutants Fawe eliminated Kagarama SS by 1 run. IPRC/TCC beat Effotec by 103 runs. The finals in both categories will be played on October 4 at Kicukiro cricket oval.
