Rwanda is taking part in the world championships for the first time.
Valens Ndayisenga finished in 51st position in a time of 48 minutes 28 seconds and 27 micro seconds while Jean Bosco Nsengimana finished 57th after clocking 48 minutes 54 seconds and 19 micro seconds.
"The guys finished well. This is their first time at a World TT with the best in the world and they faced very adverse conditions. Nsengimana raced the entire course in the pouring rain. We are pleased with their performance,” Team Rwanda head coach Jonathan Boyer told Times Sport from Spain.
The third Rwandan rider, Bonaventure Uwizeyimana did not race in Individual Time Trial but he will race in today’s road race.
The Men’s under-23 road race of the 2014 UCI Road World Championships is scheduled to take place in and around Ponferrada. The course of the race is 182.00 km with the start and finish in Ponferrada.
