Jean-Francois Losciuto has denied that he has quit as Rayon Sports’ head coach despite reports indicating that he joined Burkina Faso side ASFA-Yennenga on a four-year-deal.
On Tuesday, the Belgian wrote on his official Facebook timeline that stories suggesting he signed for the Burkina Faso premier league side are "false and baseless.”
"I’m in Burkina Faso to finish a project that is over one-year old I have with the club (ASFA-Yennenga) which is not coaching them, I wonder what people gain from spreading false news.
I’m still a Rayon Sports coach,” Losciuto posted.
He went ahead: "To all the fans, managers and friends of Rayon Sports, you should know that I only left Rwanda to go to Burkina Faso to finalise a project close to my heart for over a year.”
However, on Wednesday, Losciuto was quoted on www.fasozine.com upon his arrival at Ouagadougou International Airport saying that he was happy to be ASFA Yennenga coach.
Losciuto hinted that he was confident and thinks that he has what it takes to keep his new club at its current level.
"I’m used to working under pressure because I have gone through it in all the clubs where I have worked. I manage it well and there is no problem,” he said.
Back in Kigali, Rayon Sports president Theogene Ntampaka, when asked if he was aware that his coach is Burkina Faso and not Belgian as he had told them when he left the country last Friday, he said: "We gave him permission until Thursday (today), if he has returned by then, then shall see what to do.”
Losciuto replaced compatriot Luc Eymael at Rayon following his departure in May after the football association had banned him for two years.
