Rwanda will face Morocco in a Fifa international friendly match in November, according to Vincent Nzamwita, the Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) chairman.

Nzamwita told Times Sport early this week that they are in talks with Morocco football federation to find suitable dates for the warm-up matches.

"We are still in negotiations with Morocco. They have expressed interest to play against Rwanda but we are still in talks to determine the exact dates and a possibility of even having Rwanda play against them twice,” Nzamwita said.

Nzamwita said the national team is prepared to play a series of friendly matches in bid to have a well prepared team which will be ready to challenge strong African teams for the Chan title which Rwanda is hosting in 2016.

Rwanda has not been in competition since August when it knocked out Congo Brazzaville to snatch a ticket to the group stage campaign.

But their dreams of qualifying for Morocco 2015 were cut short as Caf banned Rwanda for fielding an ineligible player- Dady Birori, who had dual identity.

Despite the ban, Rwanda moved eight places from 101st to 93rd in the Fifa rankings.

The last time Rwanda was ranked in the top 100 was in 2008—at 78th, the highest ever ranking for the country to date. Rwanda was ranked 99 in 2007 and 89th in 2005 and 99th in 2004 respectively.
