Rwandan trio of Jean Bosco Nsengiyumva, Valens Ndayisenga and Bonaventure Uwizeyimana are competing in the U23 Road Cycling World Championships, which started yesterday and will run until September 28 in Ponferrada, Spain.

Uwizeyimana is based in France with team Vendee U., the feeder team for Team Europcar while Ndayisenga and Nsengiyumva have been training at the UCI Centre in Switzerland.
Rwanda earned the ticked to compete in the world championships folowing impressive performances by the trio in different competitions on the continent.
Uwizeyimana won stage three in 2014 La Tropicale Amissa Bongo; Ndayisenga won the stage in 2013 Tour du Rwanda while Nsengiyumva finished sixth overall in Tour du Rwanda. The team is led by head coach Jonathan Boyer.
The 2014 UCI Road World Championships consists of 12 events for elite, under-23 and junior cyclists. It is the 81st UCI Road World Championships and the seventh time that Spain has hosted the championships.
Meanwhile, Rwanda Cycling Federation president Aimable Bayingana will attend the International Cycling Union (UCI) meet which is slated for September 26 in Ponferrada.
