GASABO - Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) party supporters yesterday afternoon braved the rain as they sang its achievements during its parliamentary campaigns held in Gatsata sector, Gasabo District of Kigali City.

Hundreds of Gatsata residents stormed the campaign grounds dressed in RPF colours and waving party flags;. About one thousand people turned up. Beside the excited party supporters, the colorful function was attended by RPF senior dignitaries and cadres.

Among the high ranking officials at the event, were RPF Commissioner in Charge of Education who is also Minister in charge of Cabinet affairs, Dr. Charles Murigande, and the RPF chairperson in Gasabo District who is also the Mayor of Gasabo, Claudine Nyinawagaga.

Nyinawagaga charmed the audience with RPF songs before addressing her district’s residents. In her remarks, she told those present that the drive behind her continued commitment in developing Gasabo District was  boosted by the RPF and urged all Rwandans to vote for it.

She said that the law allows her to belong to any party of her choice and that she chose to be an RPF member because of the Party’s commitment in developing the country.

The function was also attended by three RPF Parliamentary candidates; Rose Kayumba, Christine Gahamanyi and Bernard Tugume. 

Commissioner Murigande, climbed on to the podium amidst cheers from the crowd. He did not let themdown as he thrilled the multitude by loudly singing and dancing to RPF songs.

In his key note address, Murigande listed a number of RPF achievements pointing out how the party has made Rwanda shine on the international scene.

"There was nothing like community health insurance (Mutuelle de Sante) before RPF came to Rwanda, there is security in the country like never before, the education system has not only improved but also reached all Rwandans, the beauty of our country improves on a daily basis. There is so much to say about the RPF,” Murigande said.

He listed a number of the world’s most influential people who have visited Rwanda courtesy of RPF, and the many Rwandans who have been entrusted by the international community to hold senior positions worldwide.

Murigande urged all Rwandans to vote for the RPF basing on its contribution to both the social welfare of citizens and to the development of the country.
