Reference is made to Stephen Mugisha’s article, Why literacy is important in national socioeconomic and political transformation (The New Times, September 17).

I wish to thank the author for his unwavering desire to promote the reading culture among the kids of Rwanda.

I think he should put up an organisation to translate these valuable commitments into action by organising debates in schools, symposium of reading books, plays of books like Romeo and Juliet…and I believe that this will transform Rwandans, very likely for the better.
