Rayon Sports Volleyball Club management has not paid salaries for players since May due to lack of sufficient funds.
The club President Erasme Ntazinda confirmed that his club still owes players unpaid salary arrears for four months. "We have gone four months without paying salaries on time and the delay has been attributed to lack of resources after Nyanza District failed to commit Rwf15 million annual budget as expected,” "We only received Rwf.5 million in the first quarter but later alone, they failed to budget for the players’ salaries, claiming the club expenditure was not planned in the 2013 fiscal year budget, a feat which has destabilised the club,” added Ntazinda. He further added that there are hopes of securing money from Rayon Sports community and he believes all the unpaid salaries will be sorted out before the end of the season. Rayon Sports Volleyball club came into existence in late 2013 following an idea to have a volleyball club in place to feature in the national league.
