Sunrise FC is set to organise a pre-season tournament featuring top flight league teams. The tournament will run from September 13-14 in Rwamagana district.

The development was confirmed on Wednesday by the team manager; Eric Muvunyi.

After emerging as second division champions in last season, Sunrise earned a promotion to top league alongside Isonga FC in May this year. Sunrise has invited seven teams for the two-day pre-season tourney but by press time, Mukura was the only team which had confirmed their participation.

Invited teams are APR FC, Rayon sports, Kiyovu SC, Mukura, AS Kigali, Gicumbi FC and Musanze FC. Muvunyi said even if some clubs don’t honor the invitation the tourney will still be held with few who will positively respond.

The Rwamagana-based outfit will start their topflight league campaign against the 2013 champions, Rayon sports on September 20 at Kicukiro artificial turf stadium.
