In this week’s issue of Women Today, we look at inheritance as far as gender balance is concerned. You would think we are past the era where the only thing that stood in the way of inheritance was gender.

However, Clarisse Ingabire is still battling her aunt in court over property that is legally hers after her family was killed in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. With no solid proof that she is in fact a child of the deceased, Ingabire believes that had she been a boy, she probably wouldn’t have seen the inside of a court room. Turn to pages 16 and 17 for more on her story and what the public thinks about this issue.

According to Wikipedia, autism is a developmental disorder that appears in the first three years of life. It affects the brain’s normal development of social and communication skills. In our health column, Dr Rachna gives advice to a lady who is worried that her three-year-old might be autistic.
