At least 100 ex-combatants who were discharged for phase 69 of demobilization were provided with toolkits as capital to be able to create jobs using acquired TVET skills.

The toolkits distribution ceremony was held at Mutobo Demobilization Center on Thursday, September 28, 2023.
The ex-combatants were equipped with the skills in areas of masonry, welding, hairdressing, tailoring, and automobile mechanics for their next life.

Valerie Nyirahabineza, the chairperson of Rwanda Demobilization and Reintegration Commission (RDRC), stressed that the toolkits that was provided to them is a supplementary support to the new skills gained from the center that should be used when transforming life by their own, families and the country as motherland
She called for ex-combatants to support the national economy starting from within their communities.
"Do not sell these toolkits like it happened to some of your colleagues, this is government money that you do not have to take for granted. It’s another support to the skills gained here for self-development, your families and your country as a whole,” she stated.
Rtd Maj Gen Felicien Nsanzubukire, who spoke on behalf of his comrades commended President Paul Kagame, authorities of RDRC and stakeholders for the support and making the training successful.
"We pledge to use this equipment accordingly as part of re-integration back to our communities, we will use them for our family development, and for our country,” he said.
According to RDRC data, a total of 83,000 have been reintegrated into their communities.
