Twenty-five local referees are set to undergo a five-day Fifa Member Association (MA) referees’ course scheduled for September 13-17 at Ferwafa headquarters in Remera.
The Fifa-funded initiative will be conducted by Fifa instructors Sidi Bekaye Magassa (Mali), Thomas Boko (Benin), and Augustin Ndjoya from Cameroon.
They include 19 male and six females—all Fifa recognised international referees.
The course will also cover a wide range of areas including, fitness, application, new teaching modules, amendments to the rules of the game (fouls, misconduct, positioning and movements) as well as the offside rule.
The referees include; Issa Kagabo, Louis Hakizimana, Hudu Munyemana, Gervais Munyanziza, Abdoul Karim Twagirumukiza, Ambroise Hakizimana, Theogene Ndagijimana, Jean Bosco Niyitegeka, Honore Simba, Nonati Raymond Bwiliza, Salma Mukansanga, Angelique Tuyishime, Francine Ingabire.
Others are; Sandrine Usenga Murangwa, Aline Umutoni, Speciose Nyinawabari, Samuel Uwinkunda, Jean Marie Vianney Nkinzingabo, Dieudonne Mutuyimana, Eric Mugabo, Valerie Maniragaba, Hamiss Safari, Claude Ishimwe, Edouard Bahizi and Zephanie Niyonkuru.
