SOUTHERN PROVINCE-based national football league rivals Rayon Sports and Mukura VC faceoff in a pre-season friendly match this afternoon at Kigali Regional Stadium. Both teams will be using the game to evaluate their squads ahead of the 2014/2015 season which is scheduled to start on September 20.

Jean Baptiste Kayiranga’s Mukura will be playing their third pre-season match after previously beating Amagaju 2-1 and holding AS Kigali on a 2-all draw.

As for the Rayon Sports, they will be seeking to recover from Cecafa Kagame Cup quarter-final defeat at the hands of archrivals APR FC.

Last season, Nyanza-based Rayon Sports finished second to APR with 62 points, while Huye-based Mukura finished on eighth with 29 points from 26 league matches.

Last evening, reigning league champions APR FC were held to a goalless draw by Gicumbi FC in pre-season friendly game played at Ferwafa ground.
