Rwanda’s celebrated gospel awards Gala ceremony, dubbed Groove Awards is scheduled to take place on October 26, 2014 at Kigali Serena Hotel, according to the event organisers.
The management of Moriah Entertainment in collaboration with the Kenyan counterpart of Mo Sound Events, yesterday, called on gospel singers to submit their music to be considered in the awards. The deadline for submission is September 7, 2014.
Under the theme "Let your light shine”, the event intends to inspire talented youth to consider a career in gospel music in a bid to empower them for the glory of God, according to Patrick Kanyamibwa, one of the organisers.
This year’s award gala will be the second of its kind aiming at promoting, exposing and celebrating gospel talent across Africa.
Groove Awards will announce the 2014 nominees at an exclusive red carpet Groove Nomination Night on September 20, making way for public voting ahead of the Awards Gala ceremony in October.
The event will recognise among other categories, the best traditional gospel dance troupe, and outstanding contributor to the Rwandan gospel music industry among others.
