ELEVEN out of sixteen school teams representing Rwanda at this year’s East African competitions are through to the quarter-finals.
The last eight round matches in all sports disciplines were still going on by press time in Dar-es-Salaam. Only five teams namely; GS Camp Kanombe (boys’ football), APE Rugunga (girls’ basketball), Saint Aloys Rwamagana (boys’ handball) GS Sainte Famiile (boys’ rugby) and GS Gahini in netball were eliminated at the group stages.
The week-long regional secondary schools’ competitions which attracted over 3150 athletes from hosts Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda and South Sudan, are due to end on Sunday. The semi-finals in all disciplines are set for today.
