Dear editor,
As Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe opens parliament, his Zanu-PF party will be in the minority in the lower house for the first time.
He never expected this to happen after the second round of voting.
Remember that the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party does not recognize Mr Mugabe’s presidency?
A position further strengthened its member, Lovemore Moyo, was elected speaker of parliament.
Mr Moyo’s position means that he will be able to take charge of controversial debates if no power-sharing deal is reached.
This does not ogre well with Mugabe’s plan. He is in that kind of dilemma.
