RWANDA Archery federation has been boosted with equipment worth US$5000 (about Rwf3.5m) from Axiom Networks to enable them prepare for future competitions.

The Olympic level archery equipment was handed to the president of Rwanda Archery and Shooting Sports Federation, Richard Muhumuza by the Executive Director of Rwanda National Olympic and Sports Committee, Martin Koonce.

The ceremony was held at the Archery federation offices located at Amahoro national stadium on Monday. Axiom Networks was represented by Chief Executive Officer Johnny Kayihura.

Also in attendance was the new national coach for Rwanda Archery, John Lee, who is in Rwanda working with the Republic of Korea’s development agency KOICA.

Lee said: "Our team had lots of passion for the sport and the urge to excel, but material resources had not been enough to support them.”

The local Archery federation chief Muhumuza extended his gratitude to the Olympic Movement in Rwanda for their continued support of Archery Rwanda.
