A serving Rwanda Defence Forces officer has been arrested over suspected involvement in crimes against state security, The New Times has learned. 

Col. Tom Byabagamba becomes the third person to be arrested in one week in a case that has also seen the detention of retired Brig. Gen. Frank Rusagara (Monday) and Capt. (rtd) David Kabuye (Wednesday).

He was arrested on Saturday and is now being interrogated in relation with the ongoing investigation, Defence and Military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Joseph Nzabamwita said.
