She first released a hit single ‘Mana Y’abanyawanda’ on the debut Narabatuwe album of the Prayer Palace Church choir, the Cornerstone Worship Team in, Remera.

A year after, a well wisher from the Zion Temple church, Gatenga helped her to make a studio recording of a whole ten-track album.

She sings gospel music, many have identified and commended her as a talented artist with a deep inspiration of Rwanda’s traditional music, her pastor calls her a prophet because of the powerful message in her songs but she is not so known in Rwanda’s music industry.

Her name is Chantal Ndatenyirigira, a 25 year old female artist who started singing since her childhood, imitating the legendary singer Kamaliza Utamuliza and Cecile Kayirebwa, Rwanda’s traditional music diva that probably everybody has known.

This makes me wonder where the generous hands went and probably the so called promoters may have been exploiters.
However speaking to The New Times Ndatenyirigira sounded hopeful and relaxed that she will one day portray to the nation and the rest of the world her singing God given gift.

"I have a lot of songs, its like a stream, I compose songs at anytime, when I am alone, in pain, in joy, peace, happiness, whether excited or not, and even in some good or bad periods,” Ndatenyirigira said.

Ndatenyirigira said that she plans to put some, if possible all of her songs on a video and also raise funds for charity. Most of her songs have crossed boarders to Belgium and USA where churches with Rwandans have liked her music which also remind them of their home land.

Her popular music includes Mana Y’abanyarwanda (God of Rwandans), and Haracyar’Ibyiringiro(There is still hope) produced in kinyarwanda traditional music. All of her songs are sung in Kinyarwanda.

She is a member of the Cornerstone Worship Team, the main choir of the Prayer Palace Church, based in Remera and she trains a group of cultural singers in the same church.
