Caf set to hear Amavubi appeal on 27 August

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) board of appeal has set August 27 as the date it will meet to hear Rwanda’s appeal over its disqualification from the 2015 Orange Africa Cup of Nations-Morocco qualifiers.

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) board of appeal has set August 27 as the date it will meet to hear Rwanda’s appeal over its disqualification from the 2015 Orange Africa Cup of Nations-Morocco qualifiers.

The Organizing Committee for the Africa Cup of Nations on August 17 declared Rwanda losers of against Congo on July 20 in Pointe-Noire, for fielding an ineligible player - Etakiama Agiti Tady/Daddy Birori, who has Rwandese and DR Congo nationalities but with different date of births.

Congo was subsequently consigned to Group A as replacement for Rwanda, joining Nigeria, South Africa and Sudan for the final phase of the qualifiers.
