RAYON SPORTS head coach Jean-François Losciuto has called for patience at the club after suffering a quarter-final exit at the hands of archrivals APR FC in the ongoing Cecafa Kagame Cup 2014 tournament.

Losciuto, who occupied Rayon Sports’ hot seat five weeks ago, endured a 4-3 shootout penalty defeat on Tuesday at Kigali Regional Stadium following a 2-all draw in normal time.

The two giants set up a clash in the last eight after Rayon Sports had finished top of Group A, while APR finished first runners-up in Group B.

In a post-match briefing, Losciuto congratulated his opponents of the day and urged fans to be patient while promising better performances in the future.

"I must congratulate APR but we were not lucky today, we tried to look for goals during 90 minutes but it didn’t happen. We missed goal opportunities and in the end it cost us dearly,” the Belgian said.

He added: "I understand that right now fans are angry for the early exit but building a team is a gradual process, I now know what to correct, what to change, and where to put emphasis ahead of the new campaign (season). I am disappointed as much as our fans, but we can only look forward.”

The defeat was the first for Rayon Sports in five matches in this year’s regional club tournament, which they last won in 1998.
