Kitty Joyce in a desperate move to gain fame
After Minispoc banned some explicit music videos from being played on TV’s in Rwanda, struggling musician Kitty Joyce has come out to condemn the decision saying that it is wrong to ban videos because musicians spend a lot of money making them. Her comments come after Dr Jiji’s Come to bed and Fearless’ I like you were banned.
However, our snoops tell us that Kitty Joyce who has tried to break out in the industry but has constantly failed is attempting to use all avenues to get famous. They also added that her songs are struggling to get radio airplay whereas the videos are played because of her looks, otherwise her career as a musician is as good as over. Another reason for her comments is that her Deep In Love that was produced in Uganda might also be banned because of some scenes that are rated explicit in Rwanda.
DJ Junior runs to church in a bid to save his faltering career
Everest Junior, aka DJ Junior, who composed the 2003 Campaign song Tora Kagame is said to have turned to God after he failed to break into the music industry both in Rwanda and Uganda. Our sources tell us that for quite some time now, DJ Junior tried to negotiate collabo deals with various musicians in Uganda but no one was willing to feature him. Despite being a brother to Ugandan music star Grace Nakimera, no one in the entertainment industry in Uganda wants to feature him because he is considered a faded star. On the other hand, our snoops tell us that he had plans of coming back to Rwanda to re-launch his career but the industry has changed so much that he can’t be able to compete with Rwandan musicians now. More so, our snoops tell us that he has been seen walking on the streets of Kampala as he is rumoured to be broke. So far, he has released two gospel songs Mercy Mercy and Nsansila. All the best Junior!
Rwandan artistes denied visas over disappearing acts
There’s a saying in Kinyarwanda Abagabo bararya imbwa z’kishura, literally meaning "big men eat and the small people pay the price.” This best sums up the story behind the refusal to offer two Rwandan musicians visas to perform in Canada by Canadian authorities. Knowless didn’t travel on time and the show she was supposed to perform at was postponed. King James was frustrated and took to KT radio station to question why it is easier to get a visa to the USA than it is to Canada. Well, our snoops tell us that officials at the Canadian High Commission are worried over disappearing stunts that have been pulled by Rwandan musicians who go to the USA to perform and never come back. Musicians including The Ben, Meddy, Kamishi and Kitoko were scheduled to come back but didn’t. Until Canadians are sure that Rwandan musicians can be trusted, getting visas will continue to be as difficult as it is to grasp a shadow. We wish them luck!
M-Line Art cries in song over lost love
After Robin Thicke released a whole album apologising to his ex-wife and trying to win her back, Rwandan musicians have finally caught the bug. Musician M-Line Art released a song dedicated to his lost love asking her to forgive him and come back. Our snoops tell us that M-Line Art was hurt when his girlfriend Lydia Knoria Isaro left him some months back and even titled his recent song Isaro (his ex-girlfriend’s name). Isaro is the latest in a string of songs he has released trying to win back his girlfriend. According to our snoops, he released Ntunsinge (Don’t leave me) when his girlfriend had just dumped him. He followed it up with Baza Umutima (Ask the heart) last month asking his ex-girlfriend to ask his heart what it wants. The final song Isaro is a love tribute about how he is still hurting and thinks about her every day. Whether he makes a whole album, we’ll be here to watch!
